Random statistic (pretty shocking really)

It would cost somewhere around 10 billion dollars to get purification equipment in most of the world (including all the tribes of Africa and such). America spends an average of 480 billion dollars on Christmas every year. This isn't meant to guilt anyone but seriously.

Multiple Sclurosis (MS)

Hey everyone, I am worried about my mom the doctors think she might have MS and she has had a lump in one of her breasts for 4 years and she is worried about it and the doctors say it is not cancerous. Im worried that she is going to die. Im basicly "paranoid" over all of this and im all stressed out and dont know what to do. she was diagnosed with fibermyalgia in 1994 and was showing symptomes of MS then but the tests came back negitive and if you look at the syptomes of fibermyalgia and MS some of them are the same. Im afraid that she is dying... i know what you are thinking right now but i need to start thinking positive insted of negitive. but i have tryed and tryed and i just cant. I have read on MS and it basicly says that after awhile it Paralizes you. My mom is only 41, Im 16 almost 17 and my sister is 7. So what I am trying to say is do any of you know what i can do. and what she can do. And most of all, Is my mom going to die because of this???? :( ask me for more info but i want to keep this completely confidential

Children with Progeria

I have recently seen a show about children with progeria and it was completely heartbreaking.
Progeria is a rare, fatal, genetically determined disease of childhood which causes dramatic, premature aging that occurs at about seven to ten times the normal rate of aging. Because of this accelerated aging, a child of ten years will have similar respiratory, cardiovascular, and arthritic conditions that a 70-year-old would have. There are currently only about 40-50 children worldwide with this disease due to the fact that they only live about 13 years. So I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this disease, or any other rare childhood diseases and thought about doing something for the cause? What would be a good way to help raise money for something like this? I was thinking of doing a charity walk with friends or something like that. Please help me out with some ideas!

cure cystic fibrosis

i am trying to raise the awareness to everyone about the incurable disease cystic fibrosis! i have a 15 yr old son that has this horrible disease, this disease effects mostly the lungs and pancreas but inventually effects basically all organs of the body. these unfortunate ones that are born with this have to take handfuls of medicines every day and basically have to stay hooked up to breathing machines just to help them breathe and live normal lives that we all take for granite if you are interested in donating to this cause or learning more about this awful disease you can go to www.cysticfibrosis.com thank you for your time jeri blue

I think we should add multiple sclerisis as one of our causes under fighting disease.because it is aslient killer it kills brain cells.

WTFail?

There is a disease that has plagued mankind since the beginning of time. It lurks in the shadows of every half-baked idea, and hides behind ignorant smiles of the red-necked and the young the world over. It is the champion of YouTube and similar video sites across the horizons of the interweb. This my friends, is the tale of fail: I present to you the unepic truth of stupidity. Dumb-itis. Since the extinction of the do-do bird or the lemming, Mother Nature has lead a search for that special species on which to pick. And what better selection than the one on top of the food chain? That'll knock us down a peg. You would think that with the gift of logic and reasoning, we would not have to find out the laws of physics (what goes up, must come down) the hard way. Nay, my naive little reader. There are still a great many individuals who place themselves in the histories of idiocy on a daily basis. Just take a look at the library of nincompoopery on the YouTubes. As the great Aunt May from 'Spider-Man' clearly illustrates "With great power comes great responsibility". Sadly, we humans believe so much in our own superiority, that we allow ourselves, or our fellow man if you are not the lesser of two stupids, to act according upon misinfromed impulses. So, we think we're so smart that we end up acting incredibly stupid. Sure, it's good for a laugh when someone yells "Hey, watch this!" before half backflipping off the fence and into our hearts, but you have to wonder: "What the hell were you thinking?" Or 'one up' the question with an answer in the form of a question and ask "Were you talking to me?" while you brush the dirt off your shoulders. We're still learning. Stay smart.
