Prom season just ended, so you’re trying on a bunch of dresses on clearance to get some good ones for next year. “Look at this pink one! I love it!” one of your friends squeals, pulling out a hot pink dress with a lot of ruffles. “You’ve never liked pink,” you tell her. “Well, I changed my mind,” she says. After a load of clothes shopping, you all get hungry, so you head out to the food court. You order your food and all sit down, eating and laughing when one of your friends notices a cute guy. “I dare you to go ask for his number,” one of your friends says, when another squeaks, “There’s a whole group of them!” Before you know it, your friends have all gotten up to run after the group of guys. “Wait!” you call after them. You’re not finished eating yet. You don’t know if they expect you to follow them, but somehow you have a feeling they won’t notice you anyway. Already your stomach feels empty. Why do your friends have to ignore you? Loneliness causes tears to well up in your eyes, and already you feel stupid for making such a big deal out of this. “I bet they don’t mean to do that,” you hear a voice say. Sometimes I wish I could be like you, have a normal background, a normal family, a normal life.” “What are you, Caro?” you whisper. Caro pauses, swallows, then says, “I’m part human. My mother is a human. My father…he was her guardian angel. He fell in love with her and…well, he did human things that angels aren’t supposed to do. As a result, my father was taken back up and I guess given a different job or something. I’ve never seen him. I only know that I’m…well, I’m part angel.” You stare in awe at him, not even realizing you’re not breathing until you feel lightheaded. “Y-you’re not hiding wings or anything, are you?” you stammer. “No, I don’t have wings,” Caro laughs, then turns serious again, “But…ever since I was little, I knew I was different from other kids. Even the good children sometimes told lies, attacked their siblings, called someone at school a name. I could never comprehend it, and I still can’t. I don’t know how to sin outside of my mind.” “I’d sure like to know how to do that,” you mumble. “It seems nice, if you’re okay with never satisfying your eternal curiosity,” Caro shrugs, “I can live with it. Being half-angel has its perks too, like being able to turn invisible anytime I so choose.” To prove his point, Caro suddenly disappears from your vision, then reappears five seconds later. “Of course when I’m invisible I can’t talk,” Caro says as if it should be obvious, “I can still touch you, but I can’t talk to you. So that’s kind of neat. But…I have no idea what’s to become of my life. My own mother doesn’t even know how to treat me. How could she? She’s completely human and her kid’s half a supernatural being. I don’t know what life’s going to hold for me, I don’t know if anything I accomplish is significant…I don’t even know if I’m going to die. How do I know whether or not I’ll live here forever on this earth?” Caro looks you deep in the eyes, his pain and confusion leaking into your soul as well. “Is it a sin to love you the way that I do?” he mumbles. Your stomach flutters and you’re breathless for a moment. Then you lean forward until your face is only inches from his. “You are part human, you know,” you say before you delicately kiss his perfect lips. Caro stares at you for a moment or two, then says, “Maybe there’s more than one way of searching for answers.” He leans in and kisses you. You kiss him back and before you know it, his passion has overtaken you. You have never felt a more earth-shattering kiss. When you finally pull away, you let yourself fall into his warm embrace. You breathe a small, light breath as you pull out a red slip of paper. “Uh, red? Hm.” You say slightly, edging your tone towards me. I nod, and point with a grin. “Frank, uh… Frankie!” A boy lifts his head from a paperback book, and gives you a bleak smile, edging up nervously. You’ve seen him around school, but everyone’s saying he’s the new kid. Whoever this Frankie kid was, he seemed awfully shy… He saved his place in the book, and dropped it onto my couch. I nod to both of you, and check my watch. “Mhm, you guys got about three hours…. Make it last? Oh, and Frankie darling, don’t like, do anything stupid without protection, yes?” I say with a wry grin, elbowing him on the ribs. His cheeks flushed red, eyes wide in surprise. “Uh… uh, yeah.” The boy mumbled, watching you get up as nervously as he did. His voice wasn’t squeaky, like some of the other guys’. No, his was somewhat deep, but not deep like one of those old men’s. It was perfect, or at least you acknowledged it to be. Now you get a good look at him. Cute, really cute face. And awesome hair. Streaked slightly. A small flood of butterflies floods your stomach, and your cheeks match his. Both of you trudge slowly to the closet I pointed to, the door slamming shut with a click that acknowledged the lock. He gave you a small glance, and you returned it with a soft smile. “H-Hi, I’m ______,” You say, widening your grin as your hand shoots towards him, open. He returns the grin with a bleak smile, and takes your hand; shakes it. “I’m uh, Frank- Frankie. But I, I guess you heard it earlier. Heh..” He finished softly, the same voice intruding upon your ears. You give him a small chuckle, and pulled your hand instinctively back. Then both hands fold behind your back. An awkward silence breaks out, and you stutter a bit to break it. “You’re- uh… um, Frankie?” He looks up from his feet. “I have to be really honest… you’re really cute, haha” You murmur to him, and his cheeks turn a pale pink again in the dim light. “Th-thanks _____, you’re really pretty too. Uh… uh, beautiful, if you..” He stopped, palms sweating as he shoved them into his pockets. “ask me…” The boy finished, now giving you a wide grin. You exchange glances, and finally I knock on the door. “An hour guys… Two more left… Have fun!” I say, voice muffled through the dense wood. A small tap on the door, and both of you are left alone once more. You edge slightly closer to him, and he acknowledges it, doing the same. You freeze. Was that a sign? Or did he just get somewhat uncomfortable. You edge a bit closer now, and he turns toward you. “You… you cold or something _____?” He asks, a small laugh breaking the silence. You give him the same chuckle as before, and elbow him in the rib, just as I did. “Mhm, wanna warm me up Frankie?” You tease as his cheeks regain their reddish tint. He swallows hard, forcing out a small, shy laugh. “S-Sure… how?” The boy asks bleakly, turning towards you now. Your faces are now barely touching, and you can feel his small, quickened breaths on your lips. You linger on your answer, then finally say, “Like this,” You lean in to kiss him, knocking him back against the wall. The boy gives in, complying with another kiss; this time deepened. His tongue surprises you, swiftly brushing against your lips, begging for entrance. You smile wryly, and tease a bit with your arms around his neck, kneading his hair. He moans, and finally you give entrance, his tongue now bashing yours, mating slowly. It cups in your mouth as your own forces it out, and into his mouth. He pulls away, his hands now wrapped around your waist; your shirt just slightly over your hips. “Warm now?” He says, and you smile. “No, not quite, mhmmm.” You say, pressing your lips against his again, the make-out session repeating all over. Tongues exploring mouths; vice versa. Finally, he slides one hand up your back. You comply with no assistance as he fumbles to unhook your bra and pull your tee over your neck. He rings his hands around to your front and pushes his weight on you, causing you to fall to the floor. You moan slightly as his hands move over to your chest, now kneading it with care. Did he really know how to do this stuff? Wow… so much for shy, you think, now edging your hands to pull off his shirt. The boy fondles your panties, and unzips your pants. You groan softly. He returns the groan with a small gesture, flailing you down onto the floor again. You roll on top of him, your bare chest now visible as you arch your back. The boy looks up, and gives you a sensual stare as he wraps his hands around your waist. You slide down, tugging at his skinny pants now. A loud knock on the door, and I yell again muffled slightly, “M’kay guys, time’s up… get dressed or whatever… And throw away the protection, Frankie! Hehehe” I say, an invisible grin knowingly spreading across my face in your mind. You get off of him, and pull your shirt back on, as well as your bra and pants. He does the same, minus the bra portion. The boy looks down again. “A-are you warm now?” He asks, almost in an embarrassed tone. You wrap your arms around him, and kiss his cheek, then lips. “Mhm… thanks, Frankie.” You say, now biting your lower lip slightly. He grins, and fumbles to zip his pants back up. “Good,” You both step out eagerly awaiting light again, hands intertwined. He sits you on his lap after returning his book into a sidebag, and says, “Will… will you be mine ______?” You shrug teasingly, and bat your eyelashes. “What do you think, Frankiebaby?” You say, sticking your tongue out to him. He shrugs, a small look of disappointment starting to edge onto his face. You see it, and lean in for a long kiss, then drift your lips to his ear. “Of course. I love you.”
