A young woman asked her mom one day, "how do I keep guys off me?" and her mom replied "ask him what the baby's name will be". So the next day she goes to a party and asks guys who are hitting on her, "what will the baby's name be?" This gets rid of them in a hurry. Then one guy dances with her and she asks, "what will the baby's name be?" So he takes her upstairs and when they're done she asks again, "what will the baby's name be?" He then removes his condom, ties it at the top and says, "if the baby gets out of this, call him Houdini"
Two men from Texas were sitting at a bar, when a young lady nearby began to choke on a hamburger. She gasped and gagged, and one Texan turned to the other and said, "That little gal is havin' a bad time. I'm a gonna go over there and help."
He ran over to the young lady, held both sides of her head in his big, Texan hands, and asked, "Kin ya swaller?" Gasping, she shook her head no.
He asked, "Kin ya breathe?" Still gasping, she again shook her head no. With that, he yanked up her skirt, pulled down her panties and licked her on the butt. The young woman was so shocked that she coughed up the piece of hamburger and began to breathe on her own.
The Texan sat back down with his friend and said, "Ya know, it's sure amazin' how that hind-lick manoeuvre always works."
A pirate walked into a bar and the bartender said, "Hey, I haven't seen you in a while. What happened, you look terrible!"
"What do you mean? I'm fine."
"What about that wooden leg? You didn't have that before."
"Well," said the pirate, "We were in a battle at sea and a cannon ball hit my leg but the Doc fixed me up, and I'm fine, really."
"Oh yeah? Well what about that hook? The last time I saw you, you had both hands."
"We were in another battle and we boarded the enemy ship. I was in a sword fight and my hand was cut off but the Doc fixed me up with the hook, and I feel great, really."
"Oh," said the bartender, "what about that eye patch? The last time you were in here you had both eyes."
"One day when we were at sea some birds were flying over the ship. I looked up and one of them crapped in my eye."
"You're kidding," said the bartender, "you couldn't have lost an eye just from some bird crap!"
"Well, I really wasn't used to the hook yet."
Good words do not last long unless
they amount to something. Words do
not pay for my dead people. Words do
not pay for my country, now overrun
by white men. They do not protect my
father's grave. They do not pay for all
my horses and cattle. Good words will
not give me back my children. Good
words will not make good the promise
of your War Chief. Good words will
not give my people good health and
stop them from dying. Good words will
not get my people a home where they
can live in peace and take care of
themselves. I am tired of talk that
comes to nothing. It makes my heart
sick when I remember all the good
words and all the broken promises.
There has been too much talking by
men who had no right to talk.

We were made to be different--you
and I. The same diversity is in nature but it never
argues about who is good, better, or best. Each one
of earth's creatures goes about its own business--
some yipping in the woods at night, some in high
flight, some beneath water. One biological group
does not look at another in abject disapproval--but
all blend in a harmony that makes us peaceful to
watch.
At times I may see you as bizarre and you
may view me as lacking intellectually, but we are
still God's creations, and it is the diversity that
makes life colorful, and certainly not monotonous.
God made me an Indian...but not a reservation

There is a danger when we start to draw lines
and boundaries. This is true whether outside
ourselves or inside ourselves. The danger is
losing sight of interconnectedness. When we
lose sight of interconnectedness, separation,
possessiveness (this is mine, I can do what I
want) and infighting results. Even at an indi-
vidual level, if we don't believe we are con-
nected to all things we get self centered and
have self-seeking motives. We must think in
harmony, balance and integrity. We must see
our relationship to the great whole and con-
duct ourselves accordingly.

The Elders tell us change occurs in two direc-
tions. They say, "That which is built is con-
stantly being destroyed; that which is loose is
being used to build the New." In other words,
change is constantly going on. Many times we
hear people say, "I hate change." Does it make
sense that the Great Spirit would design people
to hate it? The Great Spirit designed people
with change abilities such as visioning, imag-
ery and imagination. Maybe we need to learn
to use these tools and then we'll look forward
to change.
Great Spirit,
today, let me
see the
harmony of
Your
changing
world.

An old man shopping at a department store for a gift for his wife was intent on watching a teenage girl who was going through the sale racks. The teenage girl had a Mohawk dyed in various colors: pink, purple, green, and yellow. The old man kept staring at her.
Irritated by his staring the teenage girl finally broke down and sneered, "What's the matter, old dude? I bet you haven't tried anything wild in your whole life, have you?"
The old man did not miss a beat when he replied, "I was drunk one time and was with a Macaw. I was just curious if you were related!"

The Great Spirit has given us certain values to
live by. If we learn to think in harmony with
these values such as respect, love, patience,
tolerance, commitment, trust, etc., we cannot
get off track. No matter what we do, we will
always be in harmony. For example, if we are
respectful, then we will respect the earth, our
children, our women, our men and ourselves.
Indian values help us walk under the guid-
ance of the Great Spirit.

"So don't be afraid. What we left behind,
leave it back there. Try to do some good.
Let's try and take a step, try to think
something good."
-Wallace Black Elk, LAKOTA
Every day is a new day. Sometimes we make
mistakes. We do not need to carry these mis-
takes along with us. Take the lessons and leave
the mistakes behind. Look forward to today.
Today we can do something good. Today we
can have good thoughts. Today we can think
kind, uplifting thoughts about ourselves. To-
day I will think good about ...
My Creator,
today I ask
You to direct
my thoughts.
To "make medicine" is to engage upon
a special period of fasting, thanks-
giving, prayer and self-denial, even of
self-torture. The procedure is entirely a
devotional exercise. The purpose is to
subdue the passions of the flesh and to
improve the spiritual self. The bodily
abstinence and the mental concentra-
tion upon lofty thoughts cleanses both
the body and the soul and puts them
into or keeps them in health. Then the
individual mind gets closer toward
conformity with the mind of the Great
Medicine above us.

"We don't see things as they are. We see them as we are." -- Anais Nin GETSUMSTRANGE.COM
Darkness to a person in trouble holds only fear.
The long night seems endless, but a bit of
wisdom tells us that it is always darkest just before
dawn. If that is true, and I think it is, the darkest
hour means hope and a better time lie just ahead.
With the passage of a little time, the light will edge
in and fear will go.
When you face darkness, be strong and be of
good courage--you are not alone. Spirit stands with
you in the darkness and can transform you through
the darkness. Many have experienced the way of
darkness and have emerged far better persons, far
stronger individuals. Darkness itself does not make
anyone stronger. What makes you stronger is the
shining of light on the spirit even when it senses
only darkness. Trust that light can overcome the
darkness, and bring life and beauty to you.
