The wind is howling past my window,

Whipping the raindrops so that

They beat against any object in their path.....

Outside sounds like a raging waterfall

Constantly beating to the ground......

At other times the rain falls so lightly

It seems to be dancing to its own sluggish beat....

Puddles grow larger,

Small rivers form in the yard....

The whole world seems gray and dismal......

Creating a mood of depressive confinement.....

But one day the sun will shine again....

Until the next storm comes along....



WE'VE HAD ABOUT 4 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST 24 HOURS...AND MORE TO COME...

I listen from my window
